Our Story

We don't just translate words,
we translate care.

Pamphlit™ was built by a pediatric dietitian, for pediatric dietitians who show up every day for patients who deserve better nutrition education tools. Available in English and 20 regional Spanish dialects, from day one.

"My patients deserved nutrition education in their actual dialect — not a translation."

A patient from Puerto Rico receives a handout about "frijoles negros" when they call them "habichuelas." The words are right. The care isn't there.

The Problem

Translation isn't the same as understanding.

For decades, bilingual patient education has meant running English handouts through a translation tool and hoping it lands. It doesn't — not really.

The Spanish spoken in Mexico City is not the Spanish spoken in San Juan or Havana or Santo Domingo. The foods are different. The idioms are different. The cultural context around nutrition, cooking, and health is different.

When a patient receives a resource that doesn't match how they actually talk and eat, the disconnect undermines trust — and outcomes. Pamphlit was built to close that gap.

Our Origin

How Pamphlit came to be.

Pamphlit didn't start in a boardroom. It started in a clinic — with a registered dietitian who kept watching her bilingual patients leave with materials they couldn't connect with.

"I'd hand a patient from Venezuela a handout about 'black beans' and watch their eyes glaze over. That's not their food. That's not their word. That's not their culture."

The gap becomes impossible to ignore
As a bilingual pediatric dietitian at a leading pediatric hospital, our founder watched the same pattern repeat: patients and families leaving the hospital without materials that matched how they spoke — some discharged without translated documents at all, with a plan to email them once ready. The institution's resources were excellent in English. But for bilingual families, something essential was lost in translation, and often not provided when it was needed most.

The idea sparks, Pamphlit is born
The concept crystallized: a clinical resource library built around dialect, not just language — not translated English, but content developed from the ground up for how Hispanic communities in different regions actually talk about food, health, and care. The name Pamphlit was coined. The mission was set. Now to figure out how to build it.
Drawing on years of clinical experience, complex pediatric case management, and a background as a published author, the work began: curating, writing, and rigorously reviewing science-based pediatric nutrition content. Every document was tested against real clinical scenarios navigated at the bedside — because that's exactly who would use it.

Shaping the platform, then launch
The business model took shape. What should Pamphlit offer? Who was the right first customer? What does culturally fluent care actually require from a software platform? The Dialect Explorer™ — the engine that lets RDs filter resources by region and linguistic community — was conceived and developed as the product's defining feature.
Pamphlit opens to registered dietitians nationally. The mission hasn't changed since the beginning: give every RD serving pediatric patients the clinical tools to deliver care that actually lands — evidence-based, dialect-specific, and ready to use with the next patient.
What We Stand For

The principles that drive every decision.

Science
Clinical integrity above all
Evidence-based nutrition guidance that holds up in any clinic. Every resource is reviewed by licensed registered dietitians before it ever reaches a patient.

Culture
Cultural respect in every resource
Dialect-specific care that honors lived experience and community wisdom. We don't just translate — we adapt for the food traditions and health beliefs of each community.

Partnership
We work alongside clinicians
RDs are the experts. We build tools that amplify their expertise, not replace it. Every feature in Pamphlit was shaped by feedback from registered dietitians in the field.

Built By Clinicians

Made by people who understand the work.

"I built the tool I needed and couldn't find. Every resource in Pamphlit was shaped by the real clinical moments I lived at the bedside — because the RDs using this are living them too."

Pamphlit is built from the inside out — not by a tech company that spotted a market, but by a registered dietitian who spent years watching bilingual patients navigate a system that wasn't built with them in mind. Every decision about what goes into the library, how resources are structured, and how the platform works starts with one question: does this make an RD's clinical work better?

The patients we're here for — families across the US navigating pediatric nutrition — deserve tools that honor their language, their food traditions, and their lived experiences. And the RDs serving them deserve a platform built with the same clinical rigor they bring to every appointment. That's what Pamphlit is.
